Interesting Poll…and I Don’t Mean Chopin or Izabella Scorupco

So, one of our state’s many public policy advocacy organizations commissioned a poll. It wasn’t supposed to be on electoral politics, but included questions about some of our state’s politicians as a way to correlate the data.

When checking the crosstabs, they found some interesting numbers.

All Voters:
John McCain – Total Positive 41%, Total Negative 37%
Janet Napolitano – Total Positive 66%, Total Negative 18%

Democrats:
McCain – Total Positive 28%, Total Negative 46%
Napolitano – Total Positive 87%, Total Negative 8%

Something interesting to me about these numbers is that any lingering Democratic goodwill from the 2000 model McCain seems to be nearly gone. But the best part is this set of numbers:

Republicans
McCain – Total Positive 51%, Total Negative 31%
Napolitano – Total Positive 50%, Total Negative 29%

Geez. Our Democratic governor is nearly as popular as John McCain, in his own party?
