Who’s Writing Your Chants, Michael Moore?
The Chicago Fire hosted Toronto FC yesterday. Toronto sent a travelling contingent who are as rowdy as their fans are at home. The Toronto fans had a new chant to jeer the south of the border squad and their fans with:
We don’t have to pay for health care.

Off the topic and more on soccer, did you watch the Revolution v. Chivas yesterday? My Goats looked like Jekel and Hyde…the whipped your boys in the first half all over the field but in the second, yikes. I was happy with a draw is all I can say. Your boys were roughing up Galindo too.

Galindo is still new and hasn’t figured out yet that it isn’t a good idea to charge Reis when he is going for the ball. The Chivas are doing a lot better these days.
The funniest moment for me was four Chivas players spending so much time arguing with the referee that they didn’t realize that play had restarted and Joseph nearly scored.
By the way, I don’t know if you watched the game on Direct Kick. This week, the DK broadcast was the local Chivas feed. Those guys are the worst. “Knock knock, who’s there, Matt Reis!” “Revancha en la Cancha!” Gawd. They are also horrible homers. It got so bad with Miles complaining about the yellow cards that Bernardo actually stopped him and told him that, yes, they were justified and any ref would have done the same.
Ack…see Kral, see what you started me doing?

This is great. Go, Oh Canada. If it catches on, it may lead to fan fights at hockey games in Detroit and beyond.

Yeah, I watched on direct kick and got the home cooking announcers. No, not the greatest, but I enjoyed it being a fan and all. I did think it was amazing that the refs did not hand out more yellows to the Revs…the were nailing our guys left and right…in the box…and out.
No excuses th0ugh. We should have won that game. The midfield play was terrible. We are clearly missing our three players (Bornstein, et. al.) quite a bit. The whole game changed in the 2nd half and we stunk the place up.
I will have to say that the sub. goalie was fantastic. 7 saves…and took about the worst anyone could back there without any real defense around him.
So, I have to ask you as a rather newbie football fan. Any places around town worth watching? Also, did you see that incredible game U20 game against Brazil? Those guys made the Copa America team look like the poo.
Anyhow, watching Mexico in Copa…back to the game.

I love direct kick … nice to know I am not the only one who purchases it … but yeah, the Chivas home announcers are the worst.
The U20 game against Brazil was fluid and lovely to watch. Thoroughly enjoyable, especially given the result.
