Pearce and Burns Nix Initiative?

From a letter signed by Russell Pearce and Bob Burns urging Janet Napolitano to sign the employer sanctions bill:

Notwithstanding all of our efforts, we understand that no bill is perfect and changes may be needed as the bill is imlemented. For that reason, we believe that dealing with this issue through the legislative process is prefereable to the initiative process.

So, now that Napolitano has signed the bill, I take it that Pearce and Burns are not going to support the initiative? Far as anyone can tell, her signature hasn’t yet deflated the effort to slap on even tougher measures on migrants and their employers. Since this has been “dealt with” (their words), do they ask supporters of the initiative to call it off?

Just wondering.
