I Guess I Gotta Go Back and Check Out Those Harry Stottlemeyer Books

Once again, the logic of our friends on the right leaves me dizzy. I guess I should stop expecting consitency and sense from those guys.

Harry ReidThe current deal getting conservative panties in a bunch is the knock against Senator Harry Reid for daring to criticize General Peter Pace. They shout, how dare he criticize a man in uniform during a war!

Something they fail to notice that their man Robert Gates didn’t reappoint Pace to his position as head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Essentially, Gates had Pace fired. So, criticizing him is out of bounds and near treasonous, but actually having the guy canned is patriotic?

So, when is firing not a criticism of job performance?

Maybe they were just hoping to open up a position for one of Karl Rove’s aides.

  • We should all remember that it was the Republican President Abraham Lincoln who undermined our war efforts during the rebellion of 1861-65 by criticizing patriotic men in uniform like Generals McClellan and Meade.

  • Notice how few Republicans seem to quote Lincoln?

Now that Tom has reminded me on it, I rarely hear a quote from them.

  • Tom’s right. Lincoln opened America up to terrorism - and look what happened to him!

  • What I’m more interested in is seeing more consistency and BACKBONE from the left. Politics can mirror the schoolyard of third grade so much. Who do the bullies pick on the most? The flinching cowering kids who hand over their lunch money without a peep. I’ll respect your criticism of the right more often when you and other dems start demanding our dem leaders to stop flinching and cowering.

  • So, you’ll respect my criticism of the right more when I ape all the other liberal blogs out there?

  • No, just let you site be a nice place where you can vent easily on safe targets for liberals (those mouth-breathing republicans..yeah, yeah!) and enjoy you ego masturbation.

  • Reid calling anyone “incompetent” is the pot calling the kettle black.
