And Remember It Is an Election, Not a Debate Between Gloria Steinem and George Beck
I’m hearing this talk that Fred Thompson would be a great choice for president because of his conservative family values (a series of relationships with semi-famous blondes a generation your junior is “conservative family values,” who knew?) and because he has played tough talking leaders. He is “folksy” because he leased a red pick-up truck once and refused to debate Michael Moore, but talked smack about him on You Tube. Now, that’s cajones.
So, I’m thinking, why settle for second best? Steven Hill played a guy who ran John Lindsay’s presidential campaign and helped get at least one governor of New York elected. He has more experience playing a prosecutor than Thompson does, and he has quips that are just as good. He’s got terrorist fighting credentials from his stint leading the Impossible Missions Squad. He’s even got Western cred because he played a guy on Rawhide once. Who will join me in the draft movement?
NB: Glenn Greenwald had an oft-linked dissection of the image of Thompson that the media seems to be pushing these days.
