What a Maroon.
Many of you have spotted this one on other sites, but it is too rich.
Every election, some conservative baboso goes on TV to claim that Democrats are praying for economic collapse so that voters will vote for them. Well, to fit in with their “secular progressive” conspiracy theories, they don’t actually accuse us of praying.
As it turns out, there is at least one Republican leader who is hoping that Americans die in a terrorist attack so that his party will win the next election.
Arkansas Republican mahout Dennis Milligan hopes for a terror attack to convince people that George W. Bush is right. I didn’t make this up, he said it in an article in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette:
“At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001 ], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country,” Milligan said.
(By the way, he hopes for the mass killing of his fellow citizens only a few paragraphs after stating that he is “pro-life.”)
I’m a bit confused about the logic here though. Wouldn’t an attack on American soil mean that Bush’s policies aren’t working? He keeps saying that’s why we’re over there, right?

Slow news day?
I guess you didn’t want to talk about William Jefferson and the 16-count indictment.

Hey. PhxKid, I mentioned the Jefferson thing at my blog.

I was surprised it took this long but I think they wanted to be very sure.
I am pretty sure that the US District Attorney was given PLENTY of resources to go after this guy though.

We (the young dems) have an Executive Director in Arkansas and he sent this on to me the other day. It is really insane.
Remember, the Arkansas GOP is really similar to the Pima County GOP. They basically have nobody in power (I think all statewides are D and so are both chambers of the state leg) and are a bunch of out of touch radicals who don’t realize that people just don’t agree with them.
Of course, the way Mr. Pullen has been acting lately – we could probably put that label on the AZ GOP as well.
