Glassman Full to the Top

Ward 2 Council candidate Rodney Glassman turned in his signatures yesterday, becoming not only the first to qualify for the ballot, but turning in the maximum number of signatures (767) on the very first day of filing.

Democratic primary opponent Robert Reuss only filed his paperwork to begin collecting the minimum 384 signatures a couple of weeks ago. Republican Lori Oien would need 475 signatures (a maximum of 949) to get a place on the ballot. Both have until June 13th to collect their signatures.

As a person who is involved with the Democratic party, I see Rodney really working for his signatures and support. So, it’s not all too surprising that Rodney has reached the maximum number of signatures and also the first to file. Good for him.

  • Yeah and to collect that many contributions in $20 increments is pretty impressive too. Although he has some more to go…he is really doing great.

  • I thought Glassman was a Republican. I read the article in the Star about “Wrong Way Rodney” and assumed he had to be a R. When are you going to print some of his ideas on what he see’s as the problem area’s for Tucson and more importantly his solutions?

Glassman is a Democrat, and is identified as a Democrat in all the articles about the race, so please stop with the Captain Renault style “shocked to find out…” BS.

One problem area he identifies is more help for children. In particular, he wants to make sure that they are educated enough to understand the proper use of the apostrophe.

  • Perhaps he would be able to help you with your etiquette problem.
