Why Does Gen. Batiste Hate Our Troops So Much?

I’m sure that many of you have heard about this ad being run by VoteVets in the states and districts of vulnerable members of congress. It features Maj. Gen. John Batiste, who commanded the First Infantry Division, the Big Red One, in Iraq. He also commanded troops in the first Gulf War and led an infantry brigade in Bosnia. He was renowned for both his negotiating skills and his ability to use intimidation to win battles without firing a shot in that conflict.

But hey, what the heck does he know?

Other ads featuring Generals commenting on the conflict will be rolled out soon.

  • Wes Clark and at least one other ex-combat general are involved in this campaign, but thanks for reporting on it. Our local dailies haven’t deemed former generals disagreeing with the president about a war as being newsworthy. Maybe they’ll stumble across it and find some space next week.

  • Another question for today is why Rush “Jim Crow” Limbaugh hates Barack Obama so much. Is it because Rush Limbaugh is a disgusting pile of white supremacist pig vomit?

  • Keep in mind it was John Batiste who first exposed the line that Bush used in 2004 about ‘giving our generals all the resources they ask for’ as a bunch of bunk.

To be honest, there is little (or nothing) that is more despicable than to claim that you are giving the leaders of our troops what they ask for, for purposes of getting votes in an election, all the while knowing full well that in fact you are denying their requests.

Actually, ‘despicable’ is too good a word for that. Daffy Duck calls Bugs Bunny that every time Bugs tricks Elmer Fudd into blasting Daffy, and comparing Bush to Bugs Bunny would be to credit him with too much intelligence.
