Republicans Taking Advantage of Senator Stevens’s “Network of Tubes”

In the last couple of weeks, the Republicans have gone full bore on their push to dominate the internets. Recently, the Pima County Republicans finally took down the “coming soon” legend and have a brand spanking new website. I’d complain about the length of the URL, but I’m one to talk, eh?

The State Republican party has debuted a new blog written by chairman Randy Pullen called Pullen for the Party. Love the title, but I have to resist the urge to type in the dozen or so rude one liners I’ve come up with about it. Talk about “brand spanking new.” See, there I go. I’m awful.

The announcement had a bit of a hitch. They e-mail blasted all of us with news of the new blog, only to have to send a second e-mail an hour later to correct the URL:

Sorry gang, I think the Democrats secretly sabotaged our blog link in the last e-mail to keep our blog from getting out there. Just kidding.

Ah, Republican humor. Of course, it is based on a faulty premise: that we Democrats would not want more people to hear from Pullen. If I may use French: au contraire. We’d love Pullen’s words to be out there. Maybe he can, I dunno, attack the governor for taking a position on the Iraq war that she actually isn’t. Maybe he can slam Democrats for not supporting the President’s immigration policies, when he has gotten to where he is by attacking those very policies. Confusing? Yes. But he’s got lots of time to type and explain himself since there isn’t much in the way of finances to manage at the State Republican Party.
