Because That Was So Fun…
Organizers of the robocall campaign against Democrats that threatened to vote for Speaker Weiers’s budget are so happy with their results that they are aparently now going after soft Republicans. Details later.

That would be amazing if it was. That would be two victories then for Democrats.

Uh… isn’t making a political call without revealing who it is paid for by an illegal action?
Just,
Curious

Couple of points…
The calls were unlikely to come from Arizona List, the group that targeted Ted Downing. They make calls to support female Democratic candidates in elections. Even during elections, they would be unlikely to make calls against Lopez and Cajero Bedford.
These calls are ostensibly for advocating a certain policy rather than for the election or defeat of a candidate, thus they aren’t covered by the campaign finance laws that demand a “paid for by” tag.

Um, nice try, Tedski, but that’s bullshit. Patterson has an excellent blog on the subject of non disclosure of these “issue advocacy” mailings, which are basically candidate hit pieces in drag:

I love you clean elections guys. “Gosh, we really need to have campaign finance reform to get the big money out of politics.” That is until you start using that money to purify your party.
This whole issue should be a message to everyone who is in public office: you can faithfully serve the Democrat Party for years and you show one independent thought and you are tossed aside by the people who really run their party–the AEA and the Unions. Here I thought it was just the Republican Party that eats their own. Here’s a great excerpt from the latest Capitol Times that exemplifies what I’m talking about:
Enrique “Hank” Feldman, an advocate for children’s programs and president of the Fostering Arts-Mind Education Foundation, sent an e-mail to lawmakers and supporters castigating Lopez for her vote. He said she did not represent the interests of children or teachers and called on her to resign.
“You are no longer welcomed at our town meetings or our homes and lives,” he wrote. “You are a non-entity… a thing…with no soul. You do not stand for children which means you do not stand for the future of our society.”
A thing? No soul? Are you people batshit crazy?

So…let me get this right, you are going to base your views on the Democratic party on a single e-mail that went out from some guy that no one has heard of? Geez, wait til you see some of my e-mails.

Good job of twisting definitions. You say Democratic Party when what I actually said was “Democrat Party Leadership”, which not only means Phil Lopes, but it also means the heads of the interest groups who make up the leadership of your party. Collectively we call them the “spending lobby.” This Enrique character and his glorified agit-prop arts association is a perfect case in point. These groups exist to do but one thing, feed off of government money. Rios, Lopez and Cajero-Bedford have devoted their lives for more money for these same groups, but if they stray for one instance those interest groups will turn on them.
But I’m not basing my opinion on one email. I used the word “exemplified” after all. I didn’t need to go very far to find more examples. I’m basing my opinion on all the crazy postings on your website.

“Here I thought it was just the Republican Party that eats their own.”
Where in the world did you get _that_ incorrect notion? Of course there are purity police in both parties.
