Rick Renzi has dropped his membership from his two remaining committees, Financial Services and Natural Resources. This leaves him with, well, no committee assignments.
Any congressional history geeks that can tell me when the last time a member had no committee assignments?
Of course, he did this because of the tremendous pressure exerted by this blog. It is the only reasonable explanation.

I think that the “colorful” Rep. James Trafficant (D-Ohio) was actually stripped of all his committee assignments by the Democratic leadership. Though I must confess that I am not sure whether it was because of his legal and ethical troubles or if it was just because he was so obnoxious.

Actually, Tom, it was the Frankenstein haircut that did in Jim Trafficant. Maybe he should’ve used John Edwards’ hair stylist :>)

Tom, it was because he voted for Hastert for Speaker. Bad guy, that one.
