An Oil Man for Congress?
There seems to be some noise about getting former Senate President Ken Bennett to run for Rick Renzi’s seat. Geez, the Republicans are talking about this and the guy’s political body ain’t even cold yet. That ain’t a good sign, is it?
Bennett was talked up as a candidate for governor, even John McCain was rumored to be backing his candidacy. Back in October of 2005, he backed out, citing “family and buisiness considerations.” He’s still got the same family, and he still runs his buisiness…how would flying back and forth to DC as a congressman cause less stress and difficulty than being a governor two hours from home?
(By the way, his dropping out came well before his son’s legal troubles, which shouldn’t have been a political issue in any case)
Still, the funniest part to me is that the Republicans already seem eager to throw Renzi over the side. I mean, the guy hasn’t even been indicted yet. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Y’all can’t assume that the guy is guilty as sin; that’s my job.

Maybe Renzi is guilty since he has resigned from the other committees and asking to be dropped from ROMP Program too.

Sorry for the craptacular first post but Renzi has resigned from the other two committees and has asked to be dropped from the Republican (ROMP) program, a fundraising tool to protect endangered GOP incumbents.
