Patterson Pulls Papers, Scott Draws Opponent
I recieved an e-mail today from Daniel Patterson who wanted to tell me that he pulled papers his papers to run for mayor. From the props where props are due department: I spoke to Patterson the other day and he actually understood and appreciated the reference to Henry A. Jaastad in my last entry about his candidacy.
The vaunted list that the City Clerk publishes has already been updated to include Patterson’s name. A quick look at it will also tell you that while you were napping, Shirley Scott acquired a Republican opponent: Dan Spahr, a local financial planner. He not only pulled papers, but has already filed a statement of organization. Usually, we can peruse a filing to look at a candidate’s chairman and treasurer to divine something about support, but Spahr’s filing doesn’t list a chairman or treasurer.
The website for Spahr’s financial planning company bears the legend “God Bless America.” Glad we have that taken care of.
