New Mexico Finally Catches Up With Arizona
Jump to Comments
This week, the State of New Mexico has followed Arizona’s lead (after three long decades!) and made the bolo tie the official state neckwear.
This is all really a cynical ploy by Bill Richardson to garner my brother’s support in the presidential race. He’s probably out to get bolo tie booster Brian Schweitzer’s support too.

All I can say to New Mexico is that it’s about time. The bola tie needs to make a comeback in Arizona.

Did it work on getting Tom’s endorsement?

To be honest, Elizabeth, I don’t get why anyone who really studies Richardson wouldn’t endorse him.
I first met him twenty years ago when he represented me in Congress and I can tell you he’s the real deal– and with the mess we are stuck in in Iraq, we will need a real Diplomat (which he is) to help us negotiate our way out of it. Because we will get out via a negotiated settlement, a neo-con fantasy ‘win’ just ain’t gonna happen– if we had a chance to ‘win’ Iraq, it is so far behind us that we can’t even see it in the rear-view mirror– and the window has been shut for some time now.
Just recently Governor Richardson negotiated a temporary cease-fire in Darfur. Clearly it was possible, but genocide in Darfur just isn’t important to the Bush administration. But seriously, can you see any of the other candidates having the diplomatic acumen that they could go someplace like that and come back with results?

well my biggest question on Richardson is “will he be like Buchanan?”
But I was just tweaking Tom about his bolo tie wearing.

I second Elizabeth’s question. Did it work?
