Oh, Oh, Regina, Oh, Oh, Regina
Regina Romero, an aide to Councilmember Karin Uhlich, is expected to pull papers today to run in the now open west side Ward 1 council race.
Romero’s husband, Ruben Reyes, works for Raúl Grijalva, and she herself has been very active in his campaigns since she was in college. My keen senses developed though nearly two years of blogging tell me that Grijalva may take a stand in this primary. I’m not one to go out on a limb though.

They serve the people well. Truly public servants at the core. What more could constituents want?

I agree Big E.

Let us not forget that Regina Romero is the wife of Ruben Reyes who was busted for working on Congressman Grijalva’s congressional campaign while on the County payroll. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want a cheat to represent me! We deserve much better! VOTE NO - Regina Romero!

Poor, poor John. You suffer from a severe case of ignorance. Let me school you. You obviously don’t know that before she married Ruben she used to work for Pima County Community Services helping get jobs for hundreds of kids during the summer. She also worked for Neighborhood Reinvestment and helped get parks and sidewalks for neighborhoods that desperately needed them. No, you base your stupid opinion on something that was alleged. Poor, poor, pitiful John.

Well, one important thing to note is that working for a job does not equate to advocating for a social good. I don’t see anything that seems to indicate that she actively had a true community leadership role, which Tucson desperately needs instead of Ibarra.

Regina Romero is an excellent candidate for Tucson City Council. She’s got my vote in Ward I and I’m working overtime to help her get elected. If you have suggestions for her campaign, please send me an email at dianarhoades@gmail.com.

Vote Regina Romero

Finally– an objective voice. It’s like a breath of fresh air.

It’s good to know that Regina Romero has 1 vote from her own campaign manager! If that is the plan on winning…I hope someone can count beyone 1! Regina who? What did she do that makes her special to run for City Council?

Poor, poor Reginawho. You’re obviously not reading the prior posts–she got construction jobs for hundreds of teens, building parks and sidewalks during the sumer.

Yeah, reginawho. It wasn’t like she was paid to put those kids in the heat. Oh wait, I’m mistaken, that was her J-O-B!

Teen girl alleges assault by Elias aide
Supervisor staffer resigned day after police report filed
09:32 AM MST on Tuesday, March 13, 2007
By Erica Meltzer / Arizona Daily Star
A former aide to Pima County Supervisor Richard Elias has been accused of assaulting a teenage girl who was participating in the county’s summer youth employment program.
THE FORMER AIDE IS MANUEL RUIZ, BROTHER IN LAW TO REGINA ROMERO! MANUEL IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR REGINA ROMERO’S WEBSITE (MANNY FRESH GRAPHICS). LET’S REMEMBER THAT WHEN VOTING!!!!

Wow. Double Wow. I knew who was the aide that was fired/resigned. I didn’t know she employed him! Wow. Now, the “fresh” makes sense in his company name. Also, wasn’t there a scandal in the county when Regina’s husband left to work for the congressman’s office? I forget whatever happened to that. Didn’t he pay it back, but only because publicity drew attention to the fact that nothing was produced? Does anyone have a link to that article?
I also know someone who is Uhlich’s ward who says that Regina just didn’t know squat everytime she came to a neighborhood association meeting, always promising to get information but never following through. Anyway, this goes to show that although there are good elected officials in our city and county, nepotism and cronyism still reigns here. I wish some politicians would have the balls to not endorse someone who should not be in politics, let alone her entire posse.
On the other hand, Ken Greene would reveal more about his platform. Given, Regina’s bad start, I’m leading toward Ken by default.
