Just Like Karl Marx and Ted Kaczynski, They Have a Manifesto
Some of us were curious whether or not Republican activist Rob Haney would stage one of his dubious and slanted “straw polls” at the State Party’s reorganizing meeting on Saturday. Well, he didn’t but one of his allies, a guy named Mark Zemel, was handing out a palm card that detailed the goals of the new team at the State Republican Party. The palm card has been scanned and posted by the helpful folks at Politico Mafioso.
In it is the litany of “hot button” issues dear to the hearts of Republican activists. The main thing that struck me was this item:
NO SUPPORT FOR JOHN MCCAIN WHILE
CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS
SUCH AS DUNCAN HUNTER & MITT ROMNEY
ARE IN THE RACE FOR THE
U.S. PRESIDENCY
I’m sure that such a thing will be spun as an appeal for neutrality, which one could swallow if they just said “NEUTRALITY IN THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE.” Naw, they named names and took another shot at John McCain. This is another one of Haney and crew’s tilts in their quixotic quest to take out McCain, who is, of course, a trotskyite. Interesting also is that he named Duncan Hunter, who isn’t on anyone’s radar screen as a viable canidate. No one’s radar except Haney, who has been pushing his candidacy.
By the way, newly elected Republican Mahout Randy Pullen has invited Hunter to speak at this year’s Trunk-n-Tusk dinner. There is some constrenation about the State Republican Party inviting one of McCain’s rivals to speak on his home turf. Because of this, some are thinking it is Haney and Pullen throwing the gauntlet in front of McCain. I don’t see it that way. Pullen has already burned so many bridges at the RNC and at the White House, this may be the highest profile speaker he can get.
NB - Someone will have to explain to me how John McCain, 83% lifetime American Conservative Union rating, is a sell-out to the Republican cause, but Mitt Romney, who has flip flopped more on important issues than a trout in a bucket on your row boat (he managed to get elected Governor of Massachusetts for Pete’s sake!), is a rock-ribbed conservative. This is one of those arguments that makes me so glad I’m not a Republican.

Ted,
I was at the state meeting the whole time and never saw one of those cards. I walked all over and also sat down inside and not once did someone mention or try to give me one.

Deport all non-incarcerated illegals who don’t have a civil or criminal case pending??? LOL
Alrighty then. Attention all illegals: If you want to stay in the US, run out and commit a crime or sue somebody immediately!!!

Wow - we have been writing a lot about the other side lately. I am guilty too — I just did a long post expanding on things I have discussed on this blog in the past few days … take a look if you are inclined http://wactivist.com/article/524/azgop-sinking-now-or-long-past-doomed

BorderinAz (1/31 post) fails to provide a quote of Mark Zemel’s palmcard. The true quote is “support employer sanctions and securing the border now. Identify and deport all non-incarcerated illegal aliens except those with civil or criminal cases pending against them.” Palmcard available on request from Mark Zemel (LD6 Republicans).

So, what’s your beef Fred? Looks like I paraphrased your idiotic “palmcard” correctly.
Zemel apparently wants to identify and deport the illegals EXCEPT those who are in jail, are accused of committing a crime or are suing someone.

Author, Thanks for informing us that Duncan Hunter is BOTH “on no one’s radar” and is “McCain’s rival.” I agree with you, McCain measures up as a nobody in my book too. Good to know we can call on you when we really need to demonstrate some neutrality!
