Jeff Groscost

Former House Speaker Jeff Groscost has died. I didn’t agree with the guy on anything, but 45 is way to young to go.

  • Has there ever been an Arizona politician who has cost the taxpayers of the state more on a useless boondoggle than Jeff Groscost?

My condolences to his bereaved family, on both his untimely death and the sad legacy he left.

  • Jeff Groscost was a great man, husband, and father. He served the citizens of the United States and Arizona with pride. His legacy as a visionary and leader is concrete and excellent. Did anyone else in Arizona do anything to prepare for the fuel crisis that we have all experienced and had to pay for in gas? The extra three dollars from my paycheck every week to pay for the Alt Fuel Legislation (an exaggerated overestimate)is nothing compared to more than two dollars a gallon I pay at the pump. Of course, the cost of the environment is far more.

I appreciate the service of all of our Representatives, even those with agendas separate from my own, and think it is very sad that they only make $24,000 per year. I make more than that much money in three months. They give up their personal lives and families to serve us all. Thank you to Jeff’s family and friends. Please know that there are many of us out there that truley appreciate his dedication and service, and mourn for your loss.

  • I don’t blame anyone for assuming that Jeff was a doctrinaire conservative. I didn’t necessarily like Jeff’s style, which was always a victory of chaos over substance. But in the case of alt fuels, he had a strong personal conviction about the importance of alt fuels. He made a big mistake and he owned up to it. But his interest in alternatives to fossil fuel vehicles was genuine going back years before that bill became law. Odd to see a liberal blog say they disagreed with Jeff on EVERYTHING when I normally think that liberals like alternatives to oil.
