This Must Be One of those Mysteries. I’m Not Sure If It Is “Joyful” or “Luminous” Though.
After mass yesterday, I picked up a copy of The New Vision, the newspaper for the Diocese of Tucson. The paper carried a pastoral letter from Arizona’s three bishops, Most Rev. Gerald Kicanas of Tucson, Most Rev. Thomas Olmsted of Phoenix and Most Rev. Donald Pelotte of Gallup.
The letter urged a yes vote on Prop. 107, a yes vote on Prop. 203 and a no vote on Prop. 300.
I disagree strongly with the position on 107, but I agree with their position on 203 and 300.
Here’s the part that I find funny. I disagree with church leaders on one proposition, and in the minds of conservatives, this makes me a bad Catholic. But they disagree with the church postion on two out of three of these propositions, but that makes them good Catholics. Figure that one out.

The church is against people have legal protections? Yeah, very Christ-like.
